Messaging Service Level Compliance

There are over a dozen types of Topper reports. While many of them are realtime, there is none so important as the Service Level Compliance Report. It is expressed as a Percentage of those Messages that were Delivered within the Approved Service Level Window over a given Period of Time. This window is expressed in minutes and usually agreed to among the many corporate divisions and affiliated companies.

The Monthly Email Service Level Report

It reports on the percentage of email tests that meet the stated delivery requirement of under 10 minutes. In the example below, the route with the worst delivery record was Denver where 67 out the total of 1241 email tests exceeded the 10 minute delivery window. Those 67 represent 5.4 percent of the total for the month yielding a service level percentage of 94.6 for Denver. Service Level Reports are automatically scheduled and emailed to selected personnel.

Real-time Web-based Charting of Perfmon Counters

Another of Topper reports presenters Performance Monitor Data in real-time strip chart format. These are dynamically created by Topper using HTML and JAVA. In this two-hour chart, the left side of the chart is two hours ago and the right of the chart represents current time. So we can see at a glance the visual representation of our 4 cluster processors over the last two hours. This chart can be an hour, or a week, or a month. Topper performance reporting re-creates these charts every minute. Operations staff need only a browser opened up to view the selected charts that you configure for them. This can be in the next room , another city, around the globe.
The chart shows three performance severity thresholds: 70, 80, and 90 percent of CPU utilization. They are seen in the yellow, orange, and red bars respectively. In addition to Topper's several real-time monitoring reports is its Alarming Notifications. Alarm notification such as text paging, and email, and SNMP will automatically alert staff when these thresholds are exceeded. (Please note that Topper has user-defined parameters so that you can specify how long a condition must persist before notifications are sent to operations personnel.
