Another of Topper reports presentes Performance Monitor Data in real-time strip chart format. These are
dynamically created by Topper using HTML and JAVA. In this two-hour chart, the left side of the chart
is two hours ago and the right of the chart represents current time. So we can see at a glance the
visual representation of our 4 cluster processors over the last two hours. This chart can be
an hour, or a week, or a month. Topper performance reporting re-creates these charts every minute.
Operations staff need only a browser opened up to view the selected charts that you configure for them.
This can be in the next room , another city, around the globe.
The chart shows three performance severity thresholds: 70, 80, and 90 percent of CPU utilization. They are seen in the yellow, orange, and red bars respectively. In addtion to Topper's several real-time monitoring reports is its Alarming Notifications. Alarm notification such as text paging, and email, and SNMP will automatically alert staff when these thresholds are exceeded. (Please note that Topper has user-defined parameters so that you can specify how long a condition must persist before notifications are sent to operations personel. |
